On August 31, 2026, in San Pablo La Laguna, Sololá, REDC-SALUD and CEGSS held the closing ceremony for the first phase of the Third Cohort of the Citizens’ School for the Right to Health, with the participation of community advocates, students from the third cohort, and the technical team.

During the event, participants deepened their understanding of the right to health, citizen participation, monitoring, and advocacy, thereby strengthening their commitment to defending rights in their communities.

As part of the closing session, practical activities were held that allowed participants to apply the knowledge they had acquired about the legal framework, the organization of the health care system, and the role of citizens in defending their rights.

This conclusion marks the beginning of a new stage in the process: continuing to build capacity and participating in the practical phase of the Citizens’ School, where students will put what they have learned into practice through monitoring and advocacy exercises.
