REDC-SALUD Presents the Results of Citizen Monitoring of Health Services to COMUDE

On September 24, 2026, at the Tz’olojche’ municipal hall in Santa María Chiquimula, Totonicapán, the REDC-HEALTH submitted to the COMUDE the results of the Citizen Monitoring of Health Services, conducted at four health clinics and the municipality’s Community Health Center (CAP).

During the session, participants also followed up on the opening of the Municipal Health Office, designed as a space to provide support for cases, monitor services, and track the operations of the PROAM pharmacy.

The report identified strengths in care, including the respect for customs, hygiene standards, communication with midwives, and ambulance availability. In addition, needs related to the medication supply, access to water, infrastructure, privacy, and equipment.

As part of the agreements, reports will be presented in each community during October, and a improvement plan, with oversight by REDC-SALUD and the future Municipal Health Office.

Citizen monitoring continues to generate information that strengthens dialogue between communities and authorities and helps improve public health services.
