On April 19, more than 35 leaders, midwives and community therapists from various communities in Solol\u00e1, including San Antonio Palop\u00f3, San Juan La Laguna, Concepci\u00f3n, San Pablo La Laguna, San Marcos La Laguna, Santa Mar\u00eda Visitaci\u00f3n, San Andr\u00e9s Semetabaj, Santa Catarina Ixtahuac\u00e1n and Nahual\u00e1, celebrated the successful closing of Module 1 \u201cRight to Health\u201d of the second cohort of the Citizen School for the Right to Health.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the closing session was to reinforce the knowledge acquired during the three training sessions. Playful methodologies, such as the word cloud technique, were used to identify the most valuable aspects learned during the module. For example, one of the participants said: \u201cI learned that health is a right and it is the duty of the State to protect and respect us\u201d.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, a roulette dynamic was carried out with specific questions on health, such as: \u201cIs health a commodity?\u201d To which another participant responded: \u201cIt should not be a commodity, the system has turned it into a commodity\u201d. Both the dynamics and the various questions made it possible to review the main concepts and there was space for questions and answers.<\/p>\n

During the development of Module 1, fundamental aspects related to Human Rights, international legal frameworks and the national legal framework that supports the Right to Health in Guatemala were addressed.<\/p>\n

The objective of the Citizen School for the Right to Health is to provide leaders, midwives and therapists with the knowledge and tools necessary to carry out their work of citizen oversight of the right to health in the public health services of their communities.<\/p>\n

This achievement is the result of the effort and collaboration of all the participants, as well as of the team of the CEGSS<\/a>, The project was carried out with the help of a group of people who worked hard to carry out this important process of training and community empowerment.<\/p>\"\"
