From December 1 to 4, together with CEGSS and the C Salud Network, we held the National Assembly of the Network of Community Advocates for the Right to Health in Santa Cruz, Alta Verapaz.
This meeting was a very important opportunity for us to come together, share experiences, and exchange lessons learned among community advocates and the CEGSS technical team. Our goal was to take stock of the actions we carried out in 2025 and, based on that, collectively develop the work plan that will guide us in following up on actions for 2026.
As part of the assembly, we presented the results achieved in the various areas of work throughout 2025, highlighting the progress, challenges, and lessons learned in each region.
We also celebrated a very significant milestone: the graduation and induction of new advocates from the C Salud Network, hailing from the departments of Quiché, Huehuetenango, and Alta Verapaz, who successfully completed their training and are now actively joining this collective effort.
During the assembly, the advocates shared the main findings from the citizen monitoring of the right to health carried out in August and September, as well as the results of the outreach efforts and the agreements reached with hospital administrators.
Today we reaffirm our commitment to continue promoting citizen participation, supporting the work of health services, and carrying out oversight and monitoring processes that will enable us to demand solutions to the problems identified in our communities.
In addition, we foster opportunities for cultural exchange among the participating departments, strengthening our bonds, our identity, and the sense of community that unites us.
