a) To carry out academic research projects and programs where social sciences are applied to the study of equity and governance in health systems.

b) Provide training to researchers and students through training workshops and internships.

c) Support the development of young researchers through the non-profit counseling of undergraduate and graduate theses.

d) Publication of scientific research related to social sciences and health systems.

e) To grant research scholarships for undergraduate and graduate theses to students interested in research on health systems, equity and governance.

f) Provide technical assistance to governmental, non-governmental, academic and civil society institutions and international development cooperation agencies that require the expert opinion of the CEGSS.

g) Establish a documentation center specializing in health systems issues, governance and the application of social sciences to health systems research and analysis.
