To fulfill its mission, CEGSS uses a methodology based on participatory action research (PAR). This consists of the following:

• Systematizes local experience and organizes collective analysis.
• It links analysis with reflection and action, organizes experiences, perceptions and facts to generate new learning and knowledge.
• Turning people from excluded communities into researchers and agents of change.
